Online Games - Blacklight: Retribution - New first person shooter

For the ones who don't know Perfect World Entertainment Inc just launched a new free-to-play FPS(First person shooter) called Blacklight: Retribution. This online game is currently in open beta and from what i have seen so far i'm impressed.
It seems like a little futuristic fps but with all the good old fashion war characteristics but let's wait to see how far this game goes.

Online Games - Eligium - The Chosen One

Eligium is a new free mmorpg from Frogster that is currently in open beta. The online game is still new and in development and much features like character customization are still unavailable.
This game has 4 races (Humans, Elves, Viridis or Pandas) with 4 respective classes (Warrior, Hunter, Druid, Mage or Fighter) and have some unique features like skills leveling up for times of usage instead of your character level.

Online Games - Aion goes free to play on the 28th of February

Aion it's a free mmorpg from NCSOFT and he will become free to play at the end of February. After the other NCSOFT game , Lineage II, become free to play a few months ago, the Aion players were already waiting for this day.

The long waiting time is finally coming to an end: AION goes free-to-play on the 28th of February! The monthly subscription fees will become a thing of the past and your adventures as a Daeva will not cost you a penny anymore! The free-to-play switch-over is an important milestone in AION'S history and we're already preparing for the next one: in spring 2012, AION Europe will receive the update 3.0. Get ready for the new housing system, mounts and lots more!

You are an AION player and have prepaid subscription fees that continue past 27th of February? If so, we will transfer your remaining game days into premium currency as compensation.

For every day paid for in advance, you will receive six AION Coins in your account. If, for example, you paid your subscription up to the 3rd of March, you have five remaining game days. This means you will receive 30 AION Coins, which you can spend to your heart's content in our new shop.

Tickets

“Tickets” is our new virtual currency that can be earned through in-game achievements. They can be used to get many cool things including access to Tournaments and skill-boosting Player Items in the Store.

The introduction of Tickets means that competitiveness has an even bigger affect on your success. Just like in football, if you are highly active or really talented, you will be rewarded.

Power Tokens are still the best way to unlock all features and get the most out of the game, but you do not have to pay to have a competitive team.

Club Members and Supporters have the most opportunities to earn Tickets, and they can earn more each day than non-members. This means that rewards for hard work and skill in the game are magnified for those who have decided to become members.

Over the next few days, we will be adjusting how Tickets work until everything is balanced. Start earning them now by doing things like the following:

Leveling up (some milestones have bigger bonuses than others).

Winning cups.

Advancing in Tournaments.

Building your Hot Streak by 3 games (3, 6, 9, 12 etc.).

Inviting friends (you also get Tickets when they level up or purchase with Power Tokens).

Buying Club Membership. Club Members receive a big sum of Tickets.

As we integrate Tickets into the game, there are some temporary caps on how many Tickets you can earn each day. When the Ticket economy has stabilized we will adjust these caps to allow you to earn even more.

Online Games - Allods Online - Volume 5 goes live this February

It's true the volume 5 update to Allods Online goes live this February according to the news on their forum:

Online Games - League of Legends - New game mode Dominion

For the ones who don't know, League of Legends it's a free to play moba game. And recently was added to the game a new game mode called Dominion. Dominion it's a 5vs5 map control game in which you already start a level 3 with some money and you will level up much faster. The game usualy last for 20-25 mins and they are allways full of action. This new game mode is really addictive and promisses to bring lots of fun to the League of Legends players. I also made a little video of Dominion's gameplay with one of the best champion for this game mode, Rammus. Due to his speed, armor and CC rammus is a great champion to Dominion.

FireFall is a team-based action shooter and it's currently in beta fase. As far as i know it will be free to play and the gameplay remember me a bit of the game Borderlands. For more information check the video or the website.

Tribes Ascend wasn't released yet but it will be a free to play online FPS with graphics and gameplay similar to the popular HALO. This promisses to be a great game and the trailer released gives a quite good impression.

Free Online Games - SMITE - A new MOBA style game

SMITE wasn't released yet but it will be moba style like League of Legends and Heros of Newerth but in a whole different level. SMITE have awesome graphics with a third person view like a standart mmorpg and your character moves with WASD keys instead of the standard mouse moving.
SMITE has several gods to choose from and all of them have great abilities and skin detail. Another great difference is the fact that your base is a minotaur that will figth your enemys when they try to win the game. Also this game uses the very known Unreal 3 engine so probably the game with have some high pc requirements.
Currently you can candidate to be a beta tester on the game website. Lets wait for this game to see if it will be as good as it promisses.

Free Online Games - DC Universe will be Free-To-Play

DC Universe Online or DCUO is an mmorpg by Sony Online Entertainment - Austin. Jim Lee serves as the game's Executive Creative Director, along with Carlos D'Anda, JJ Kirby, Oliver Nome, Eddie Nuñez, Livio Ramondelli, and Michael Lopez. EverQuest developer Chris Cao was the Game Director through launch up to May 2011, but has since stepped down to be replaced by Mark Anderson, previously the Art Director. Shawn Lord is also involved. Geoff Johns is the principal writer.

The game has beautifull graphics and a marvelous fighting system. It features a Non-Targeting-System that allows you to fight multiple enemys at the same time. There are PvP and PvE servers. In both, heroes and villains are in the same area but in the PvP ones you can attack others. There are quests that can be done either in the streets or in dungeons. In most dungeons there are bosses. All bosses are famous DC characters. You choose your mentor from 3 heroes/villains (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman / Joker, Lex Luthor, Circe) they represent 3 different specializations, Tech, Meta and Magic. You can choose one from six different powers (Fire, Ice, Mental, Nature, Sorcery and Gadgets) and also one from three movement modes (Speed, Acrobatics and Flight)

Regardless of the game's nice mechanics and graphics, the playerbase is low, but with the conversion to Free-To-Play it is normal that the playerbase grows alot in the first few weeks, because many people don't want to pay, because there are other alternatives such as Champions Online.
